The present invention relates to methods for treating or preventing a disease or disorder in an animal caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (M. hyo), wherein the animal is administered a single dose of an effective dose of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae vaccine, the animal being about 3 to 10 days old, and the vaccine dose contains at least 1 × 10 color change units (CCUs). The M. hyo vaccine may be an inactivated or modified live preparation based on whole cells or parts thereof, subunit vaccines, or a nucleic acid or DNA vaccine. M. hyo vaccine, administered in accordance with the present invention, can be obtained synthetically or recombinantly. |
