abstract |
The invention describes a method for removing contaminants from a compressor and / or compressor intermediate cooler in a separation system for the conversion of methanol to olefins. This method includes compressing the effluent in a compressor having an inlet, an outlet, and a compressor surface, the compression being carried out under conditions effective to form a contaminant on the compressor surface. A contaminant-removing medium is injected into the compressor or the intercooler, and the contaminant-removing medium comes into contact with the contaminant under conditions effective to remove the contaminant from the inner surface of the compressor or the intercooler, whereby a mobile contaminant is formed. Further, this mobile contaminant is removed from the compressor or the intermediate cooler. |
