abstract |
A composition useful for preparing gelled liquids by crosslinking hydratable polymers is an aqueous solution of zirconium complexed with carbonate and bicarbonate as the only multidentate ligands complexed with zirconium. The composition also provides a pH-modifying ability, and cross-linking is slowed down so that one composition replaces several fluid additives needed previously to produce fluids used, for example, in hydraulic fracturing. |
