abstract The invention describes a low foaming herbicidal composition comprising glyphosate and a polyalkylene oxide alkanol which has the formula RRCH-R- (OR) -OH (I), where R and R are methyl or ethyl, R is a straight chain alkylene group containing from 5 to 12 carbon atoms , R represents an alkylene group containing 2 or 3 carbon atoms, and n is 4-20. Particularly preferred is ethoxylated, propoxylated or mixed alkoxylated / propoxylated isotridecyl alcohol in which the degree of alkoxylation is 6-14, for example isotridecyl alcohol containing 8 polyethylene oxide units. A preferred composition further comprises an alkyl glycoside.
