titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR DETERMINING PARAMETERS OF PARTICLES BASED ON FLUORESCENT IMAGE |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method for determining particle size distribution (PSD) clogging agents in flowing, in particular aqueous, media used in the production of hydrocarbons. Fluids in this case are drilling fluids, formation fluids, well completion fluids, etc. It was found that since the calcium carbonate used as a capping agent exhibits autofluorescence, it is possible to selectively determine PSD for it. The method is reproducible, and its implementation does not interfere with the presence of other particles, such as drilling solid products, which interfere with conventional methods that use, for example, light scattering. In the presence of other fluorescent components, the radiation used to excite the fluorescence of the occluding agent can be filtered with the release of a specific frequency. Another technique that can be used to implement the invention is the use of a flow cytometer. |
