abstract | The invention relates to a method for determining the activity of 5'-nucleotidase, in which a biological sample is incubated according to the method and under conditions known per se, with nucleotide pentose monophosphate as a substrate, the released inorganic phosphate is converted into a colored complex by treating it with ammonium molybdate and a reducing agent, the color intensity is measured in a known manner and from the measured value of the 5'-nucleotidase activity or the amount of inorganic phosphate released per unit time, a value proportional to the 5'-nucleotidase activity is calculated using known calculations and/or using a calibration curve. According to the invention, 5'-AMP, 5'-CMP, 5'-UMP, 5'-GMP, 5'-IMP and 5'-TMP are used as nucleotide pentose monophosphates and measurements are performed on all six substrates. The invention also relates to a set of reagents for carrying out the above method. |
