DEVICES FOR DELIVERY OF DRUGS WITH PROLONGED DELIVERY, METHODS OF APPLICATION AND METHODS OF THEIR PRODUCTION |
abstract |
A method and a device for treating a mammalian body for obtaining the desired local or systemic physiological or pharmacological effect are proposed. The method includes the introduction of a drug delivery device with a prolonged release into the body of a mammal in need of such treatment in an area in which release of an effective agent is desired, and allowing the effective agent to exit the device in a controlled manner. The device includes an internal core or reservoir containing an effective agent, an impermeable tube that covers the parts of the reservoir, and a permeable element at the end of the tube. |
