abstract | The present invention relates to crystals of P- (2'-deoxycytidine 5 '-) P- (uridine 5' -) tetraphosphate (dCP4U) or its salts and to a method for producing crystals. The present invention also provides a process for preparing dCP4U comprising the reaction of uridine 5'-monophosphate (UMP), 2'-deoxycytidine 5'-monophosphate (dCMP), diphenylphosphochloridate (DPC) and pyrophosphate (PPi). The dCP4U crystals according to the method of the present invention have high purity and high stability, and are not hygroscopic as compared to the freeze-dried product, and therefore serve as a useful raw material for the preparation of drugs. The method of obtaining dCP4U in accordance with the present invention allows the use of inexpensive UMP as a raw material and provides a high yield. Thus, the process is suitable for large-scale synthesis of dCP4U. |
