titleOfInvention | COVERING COMPOSITION, PREFERABLE INK FOR PRINTING IN THE SECURITY SYSTEM, METHOD OF OBTAINING COVERING COMPOSITION AND APPLICATION OF GLASS CERAMICS |
abstract | The present invention relates to coating compositions, preferably security printing inks, which include at least one organic resin, at least one pigment, and optionally at least one solvent. The specified pigment includes particles of glass ceramics, which contains at least one crystalline particle embedded in a glass matrix. These glass ceramic particles have a size in the range between 0.1 and 50 microns. Preferably, active ions selected from the group of rare-earth elements are introduced into the crystalline phase of the composite material to provide glass ceramics with up and down conversion properties. Glass-ceramic luminescent materials have excellent physical and chemical stability. The glass matrix also provides stabilization of photophysically interesting base halide crystals that have low phonon energy. Such materials have unusual excitation and emission characteristics. |
