abstract Improved decomposition of alkyl or aromatic hydroperoxides to obtain a mixture of decomposition reaction products containing the corresponding alcohol and ketone. The improvement refers to the decomposition of hydroperoxide by contacting the hydroperoxide with a catalytic amount of a heterogeneous catalyst of Au and Ag. Catalysts can also, at discretion, be applied to an acceptable element of the carrier.
