titleOfInvention COATED CABLE RESISTANT TO SHOCK LOADS
abstract The present invention relates to a cable coating that is capable of protecting a cable against accidental impacts. By including in the structure of the power cable an appropriate coating of foamed polymeric material of appropriate thickness, preferably in contact with the sheath of the outer polymer coating, it is possible to obtain a cable that has high impact strength. It was also established that the foamed polymeric material used as a coating for cables allows to achieve a higher impact strength for this cable than when using a similar coating based on a similar, but non-foamed polymer. This type of coated cable has various advantages over conventional metal-armored cable, for example, easier processing, reduced weight and size of the finished cable and lower environmental damage when it comes to cable processing after the completion of its work cycle.
