The invention describes a lubricant that is prepared using at least one synthetic ester composition that provides heat and oxidation stability and includes the product of the interaction of 3,5,5-trimethyl-1-hexanol and an acid or anhydride, and an additive package to lubricant, due to which it is possible to either reduce the amount of antioxidant introduced into this lubricant additive package in order to maintain oxidation stability and heat resistance of the engine oil composition to at least at least 20 min, as determined by DSCVD at 220 ° C, air pressure of 3.445 MPa and 0.5 wt.% dioctyl diphenylamine, or to exclude it. In a preferred embodiment, this synthetic ester composition exhibits the following properties: a metal content of 10 ppm or less, based on the entire synthetic ester composition; an ash content of 15 ppm or less, based on the entire synthetic ester composition; a total acid value of 0.05 mg KOH / g or less; and a volume resistivity of at least about 1 × 10 Ω · cm. |
