Novel amidine compounds of the formula <IMAGE> where R1 and R2 are each a hydrogen atom or a straight- chain or branched alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, R3 is a straight-chain or branched alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms or a group of the formula R4-B-(CH2)n-, where n is 1-2, B is -O- or -NH-, and R4 is a hydrogen atom, R5-CO- or <IMAGE>, and R5 is straight-chain or branched alkyl group having 1- 15 carbon atoms, and R1 and R3 can together, by way of 2-4 carbon atoms, form a ring which optionally contains a double bond and straight-chain or branched alkyl groups having 1-4 carbon atoms as substituents, and medically acceptable acid addition salts thereof, are useful anti-trypsin, anti-plasmin, anti-kallikrein, anti- thrombin and anti-complement agents, which are administered orally. |
