abstract Compounds of the formula <IMAGE> where R1 is H, halogen, or C1-4 alkyl R2 is halogen, CF3, CN R4 is H, or halogen R5 is furyl, thienyl, pyridyl, or ring systems consisting of phenyl which is orthofused to a benzene, cyclohexane, cyclohexene, cyclopentane or cyclopentene ring, in which rings one of the carbon atoms can be replaced by oxygen, sulphur or nitrogen, and each of these ring systems can optionally be substituted by halogen, hydroxyl or alkoxy having not more than 4 carbon atoms, R6 is H or CH3 R7 is H or C1-4 alkyl R8 is H, alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, or aryl R9 is H, or R9 together with R8 form a piperidine, pyrrolidinyl, morpholine, or piperazinyl ring or a ring of the formula or R9 can be alkyl or alkoxycarbonyl of the formula <IMAGE> where R11 is H, CH3, (CH3)2CH, CH2CH(CH3)2, <IMAGE> and R13 is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, or a 2-acetamide group of the formula <IMAGE> where R15 is H, CH3, C2H5, C3H8, or CH(CH3)2, and R14 is H, CH3, C2H5, C3H8 or CH(CH3)2, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The compounds can be used as prodrugs for active compounds when treating mental illness.
