| abstract | Selective herbicides, which contain as active ingredient at least one herbicidal compound of thiocarbamate, triazine, chloroacetanilide, carbamide or phenoxy acetic acid type and furthermore containing 0.1-50 per cent of a dichloracetamide derivative with formula <IMAGE>, I where X means oxygen, sulphur, SO or SO2, n is O or 1, and R1 and R2 mean hydrogen, alkyl or phenyl, which is substituted with halogen, hydroxyl or nitro, or R1 and R2 together form a butylene, pentylene or hexylene group, which is possibly substituted with one or two methyl groups, the quantity being calculated in terms of weight of the herbicidal component. The dichloroacetamide derivatives I, thus far unknown, are produced by a series of different methods. The dichloroacetamide derivatives I reduce the phytotoxicity of herbicidal compounds of the abovementioned kind. Selective weed control can also be done by applying separate preparations containing a dichloroacetamide derivative I and a herbicidal compound of the abovementioned kind, respectively. |
