abstract A conjugate of a bactericidal agent and an antibody directed against at least one particular type of bacteria which form dental plaque and/or cause caries, such as Streptococcus mutans, can be used as the active constituent in a pharmaceutical preparation for treating dental plaque and/or caries. The bactericidal agent of the conjugate is preferably an antibiotic, for example netilmicin. This conjugate can be used to obtain a satisfactory antibacterial effect within the course of a brief period of exposure.
