abstract The present invention relates to meat compositions which are based on a combination of meat and vegetable protein and are particularly suitable as a substitute for ordinary meat or meat products (eg minced meat). The meat composition according to the invention comprises in wt% to 50 wt% textured wheat protein (component (A)) ), 0.1% to 10% by weight of a special blend (component (B)) and 40% to 98.9% by weight meat (component (C)). The particular blend preferably consists of 15 wt% to 88 wt% meat powder, 10 wt% to 60 wt% beet extract and / or paprika powder, wt% to 10 wt% caramel, and wt% to 15 wt% rosemary extract. In addition, any usual additives and / or adjuvants may additionally be included.
