abstract | N-alkoxy-alkyl amido cpd. of formula (I) is new. In (I), p = 1-4; n = 1-6; m = 1-6; and (CnH2n) and (CnH2m+1) are opt. branched chain alkyl gps. Specifically, p = 4; n = 3; and m = 1. (I) is prepd. by reacting under amide forming conditions an amine cpd. H2N-(CnH2n)-O-(CmH2m+1) (II) with a carboxylic acid or lactone HO-CH2-(CHOH)p-CO2H, or cpd. of formula (III); q = 1-3 and (II) has m = 1 and n = 2. The carboxylic acid is gluconic acid and the lactone is glucono-delta-lactone and one mole of carboxylic acid or lactone is contacted with at least one mole of amine. |
