abstract |
Top (14) of a laboratory bench comprises a support board (24), e.g. mfd. from blockboard, on which a working surface (18) of lesser area is positioned, leaving a step (30), which is covered by an edge bead (16) which is cast on to the bench top. Pref. using a mould with the required shape of the edge bead. Structures (44) retaining the bead may be cast at the same time. The material forming the bead is pref. premixed and can be subjected to vibration before casting. Pref. casting material is a polymer ceramic or another material such as polyurethane. |
