abstract The laser (100) has a resonator (200) with an amplifier material (202) for amplifying the laser energy within the resonator, reflected along an axis containing the amplifier material. The linear phase shaft between the polarisation modes in the resonator and the amplifier material are compensated by a control device (210) using Faraday rotation devices. Pref. the control device uses Faraday rotation mirrors contained within the resonator space and defining an internal optical fibre range, the amplifier material provided by double refraction optical fibres.
