titleOfInvention Device for separating profile sections from a bar
abstract The arrangement contains a parting tool (1) with an exchangeable cutting element connected to a bogey (3). The bogey has several rollers (4), can travel on a fixed guide rail (2) and is moved backwards and forwards by a chain drive (5). The parting toll follows the movement of the bogey. The strip (6) is fed through the arrangement to a measuring roller (7) which can turn freely and is in contact with the strip such that its contact velocity is the same as that of the strip. The measuring roller is electrically coupled to a drive (8) which operates the chain drive. A preprogrammed required length is fed into a NC controller. When the measuring roller detects this length, the drive chain accelerates the cutting tool to the speed of the strip and operates it.
