titleOfInvention Production of salt-free and low-water methyl ethyl ketone peroxide
abstract The description relates to a process for producing methyl ethyl ketone peroxide by the reaction of methyl ethyl ketone and hydrogen peroxide in the presence of an acid catalyst in a phlegmatizer agent in which a 50 to 70 % hydrogen peroxide is used, the aqueous phase is separated from the two-phase mixture obtained after the reaction without the addition of salt and as much of a water-miscible phlegmatizer agent is added to the organic phase as is needed to produce a clear methyl ethyl ketone peroxide solution.
