titleOfInvention Process for producing granules in a fluidized bed and apparatus for carrying out the process
abstract Granulates that tend to become sticky at higher temperatures are produced by simultaneously granulating and drying a composition that is liquid or viscous in normal conditions in a fluidised bed (5) at a temperature generated by a drying gas (4) blown from below. The fluidised bed (5) is located in the upper part (2) of a fluidised bed chamber divided into two by a flow base (1). The drying gas (4) is supplied through the bottom part (3) of the fluidised bed chamber. The granulates are discharged from the fluidised bed (5) through a discharge area that is thermally insulated from the bottom part (3) of the fluidised bed chamber and/or cooled, and through a thermally insulated and/or cooled downpipe (7). Caking of the granulates in the discharge area and downpipe is thus largely avoided.
