Process for reducing unwanted crystal growth of solids in suspensions for flue gas desulfurization plants, especially for wet desulfurization in coal-fired power plants |
abstract |
To prevent unwanted crystallisation of solids in suspensions used for exhaust gas scrubbing, the water containing sulphate and pref. reaction products (1) in a watery form with a sulphate content are diverted from the desulphurising assembly (8) for the exhaust gas into a container (2). In the container, it is treated with a part flow of fresh calcium hydrate suspension (5) for a sufficient reaction time for sulphate precipitation. At the station (4) to quench the quicklime, water (3) with a low sulphate content is added to give a fine grain calcium hydrate suspension with insignificant grit formation. |
