Following an incident with the uncontrolled emission of coolant, power station components can be coated with a film of condensate which is conductive owing to deposited soiling and, with deteriorated insulation, can result in electrical functional defects. This situation is simulated by spraying a test liquid, the wetting power (surface tension) and conductivity of which correspond to those of the coolant condensate, on the electrical components of the power station. This test can be performed as a matter of routine at normal pressure and temperature while the reactor is running. |
