abstract |
The method for the determn. of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) is characterised in that:(a) air-satd. phosphate or Tris buffer (pH 6-8) contg. 2 mM NADH is used as the assay medium;(b) 1-10 U/ml salicylate hydroxylase (SH) and rabbit liver esterase (RLE) are used as enzymes, and(c) either:(i) the formation of catechol or the consumption of NADH is measured with a spectrophotometer, or(ii) the consumption of O2 is measured with an amperometric electrode. Also claimed is a sensor for ASA determn., comprising a mixt. of SH and RLE fixed to the front of an amperometric electrode. |
