abstract Acrylic rubber compsn. (I) contains acrylic rubber (II) and trioctyl phosphate (III). (II) is a polymer of a 1-8 C alkyl acrylate (IVA) or 2-8 C alkoxyalkyl acrylate (IVB); a copolymer of (IVA) and (IVB); a copolymer of (IVA) and/or (IVB) with a monomer (IVC) contg. crosslinkable gps., pref. a vinyl monomer with epoxy, COOH, reactive halogen, OH or amido gps. or a diene monomer, esp. with 0.1-10 mole-% (IVC); or a copolymer of (IVA) and/or (IVB) with up to 10 mole-% other copolymerisable vinyl monomer. (I) contains 2-40 (wt.)% (III) w.r.t. (II). (III) pref. is tri(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (IIIA). USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is used for moulded seals, pref. seals used in contact with metal, esp. cast iron or soft steel and to prevent a seal material sticking to metal or plastics parts. (I) does not stick, even when (II) contains crosslinkable gps., and the physical properties of (II) are not impaired.
