Method for boron analysis of suspended biological cell material by atomic absorption spectroscopy |
abstract |
Suitable for analysis for boron in suspended biological cell material by atomic absorption spectroscopy is an arrangement with heatable cuvette, autosampler and metering pipette whose pipette tip has an internal diameter of 0.5 to 2.5 mm, in particular about 0.8 mm. The sample inlet opening of the cuvette has a diameter of 1-3 mm, in particular 2 mm, and means for interrupting the internal inert gas flow through the cuvette during the metering process are available in the form of a time-controlled bypass. The cuvette has an internal wall surface which is inert in respect of the formation of temperature-stable boron compounds. For homogenising the samples in the sample vessels in the autosampler, appropriate stirring bars and at least one magnetic stirrer are provided. The method is particularly suitable for serial analyses for determining the boron distribution in tumour tissue with regard to the killing of tumour cells by a boron neutron capture therapy. |
