Process for the preparation of aqueous glycinate solutions with reduced levels of dichloroacetic acids |
abstract |
Redn. of the dichloroacetic acid (I) content of aq. glycinate solns. comprises heating the soln. contg. cpd(s). of formula R-CO-NX-CH2-NY-CH2-COO<->M<+> (III) to >100 to 150 deg C and >1 to 10 bar in a sealed reactor at pH 7-10. One of X and Y = -CH2CH2OH and the other = H; R = the alkyl gp.of a fatty acid. Also claimed are the aq. glycinate solns. obtained, esp. with a (I) content no more than 0.002 wt.%. |
