titleOfInvention Test for individual control of anticoagulant therapy
abstract The invention relates to innovations in tests which are used for monitoring the coagulation status of patients, which are suitable for individual use and performance by the patient and which are of sufficient accuracy for determining the coagulation status. All methods hitherto used for determining the clotting time, even those using normal capillary blood, can be performed only in clinical laboratories. This means that the patient is permanently dependent on physician and hospital, because the required measuring equipment is relatively large, costly and inconvenient. Moreover, lay people have to date not been able to perform such a test. This may have disadvantages for the risks associated with anticoagulant treatment because the monitoring intervals may be extended and, furthermore, the results of tests are not immediately available, especially when a shortened monitoring interval would be desirable owing to changes in diet or lifestyle, such as journeys. We have therefore invented and developed a test system which permits great independence in the determination of the coagulation status, is reliable, easy to manipulate, easy to transport and low-cost. The invention makes available a method for individual monitoring of anticoagulant therapy, wherein blood is obtained, an analysis solution ... Original abstract incomplete.
