titleOfInvention Sliding partner in joint arthroplasty
abstract The sliding partner, according to the invention, is composed of a composite material comprising a matrix or matrix layers at least of a three-dimensionally highly crosslinked polymer with embedded inorganic non-metallic hard material components having a defined geometrical shape, size and a defined amount, for minimisation of wear and, where appropriate, further additives of inorganic non-metallic and/or organic materials having an undefined and/or defined geometrical shape, for modification of the properties of the polymer matrix. The preferred field of application is isoelastic components for joint endoprostheses, for example cups for hip joint endoprostheses with a ceramic head.
