titleOfInvention Process for heat and CO¶2¶ extraction from a composting plant
abstract The invention relates to a method of obtaining heat and CO2 when organic waste is composted. A heat exchanger is introduced into the reaction space, and this heat exchanger removes only such an amount of heat from the reaction biomass that the reaction temperature does not drop to below 50 DEG C. At the same time, the CO2 formed during the reaction is utilized by being passed into greenhouses connected to the composting plant, or recovered by condensation or chemical reaction and used for other purposes. The reaction biomass is exchanged for fresh material when the reaction temperature has dropped permanently to below 50 DEG C. The spent reaction biomass will still be in particulate form and is therefore well suited for use as a mulch for covering plant beds and the like.
