titleOfInvention | Sensor for determining the oxygen content of gas mixtures |
abstract | The invention relates to a measuring sensor with pump reference for measuring the oxygen content in gas mixtures, in particular in exhaust gases of internal-combustion engines. The probe comprises a measuring cell (A) and a reference cell (B), with the electrodes (1) to (3), of which the electrode (2) is common both cells. The reference cell (B) with the electrodes (2, 3) has an internal oxygen-reference zone (17) which is closed off hermetically relative to the gas mixture and is connected to the atmosphere by a pressure-balancing connection (18). The measuring cell (A) and the reference cell (B) can be heated by the heating device (7) to a temperature at which the ionic conductivity of the solid electrolyte (4) in the two cells (A) and (B) is sufficiently high. The heating device (7), with its porous insulation (9), is advantageously arranged in the vicinity of the porous electrode (3), in such a way that the porous insulation (9), together with the porous electrode (3), forms the oxygen-reference zone (17) and, together with the porous electrode (3) and the porous conductive track (3'), forms the pressure-balancing device (18). <IMAGE> |
