For recycling or recovering useful materials from mixed plastics/electronics waste, use is made of a process and a recovery installation by means of which the starting material is initially brought to -120 to -150 DEG C, without generating environmentally polluting emissions, and is thereby made more brittle in order for it to be comminuted and sorted. Both the comminution and the sorting take place in the low-temperature state, with the result that it is possible to recover both the useful metals and the plastics thermally unchanged, so that they can advantageously be further processed. Consequently, public acceptance with respect to the plastics and computer industries is increased, since recyclability and consequently the avoidance of waste can be ensured. <IMAGE> |
