titleOfInvention Process and vehicle for cleaning and emptying street gullies
abstract The invention relates to a process and to a vehicle for cleaning and emptying street gulleys which are closed off by gratings, and to a tank for waste and sludge, a pivotable extension arm with control means being assigned to the tank. The functions of detecting, gripping and moving gratings which cover the street gulleys and the functions of emptying and cleaning the street gulleys are carried out automatically by the assignment of corresponding control means to a handling apparatus in conjunction with the extension arm. For the purpose of the fine positioning of the extension arm, of a supporting device, of a gripper system and the suction hose, a sensor system is assigned to the handling apparatus. This sensor system passes the measured data to a computer which, in turn, also controls the handling apparatus. The gratings to be emptied and cleaned are detected by the handling apparatus by means of a data bank which is assigned to the computer and in which data of known grating geometries are stored. These items of data are compared with the measured data of the sensor system and the class of grating is thus detected.
