titleOfInvention Process for processing phosphate sludges
abstract There is described a process for reprocessing phosphate sludges, which is particularly suitable for the reprocessing of sludges formed in the surface treatment of metal parts with solutions containing phosphoric acid. In this process, the phosphate sludge is leached successively with aqueous alkali metal hydroxide, aqueous mineral acid and aqueous alkali metal hydroxide. The basic or acidic solutions and insoluble residues thus formed can then be further processed in a suitable manner to give saleable products.
