abstract A colour TV cathode ray tube has a mask plate (17) that locates on the curved surfaces of a pair of frame bars (2). The bars are coupled together by a pair of U-shaped arms (3). The arms locate on projecting supports (11). The mask plate carrier (10) is set into the space between the arms. The sideways location of the mask is determined by a pair of positioning elements (6) that project on supports from a central pillar. Pins (9) provide a location for the mask plate. Once in position the mask is welded to the frame. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simplified mounting of mask.
