abstract |
The invention relates to a ribosome-inactivating protein (P 1 or peponin) which can be isolated from the seeds of species of gourds. This protein has an action inhibiting HIV reverse transcriptase besides the known ribosome-inactivating activity. The molecular weight of the protein is about 31 kDa, and the protein has an IEP of 8 to 9. |
