titleOfInvention Control and prevention of non-putrefactive disease of human and animals esp. AIDS and BSE - using L-tryptophan, indole or deriv., ascorbic acid, methane or hydrogen@ to increase body indole content
abstract Transmittable human and animal diseases caused by nonputrefactive organisms are cured and prevented by increasing the indole content of the body using L-tryptophan, indole or a deriv., ascorbic acid, methane or hydrogen or a combination of these. USE/ADVANTAGE - The method is used esp. against HIV in humans and BSE in cattle and sheep. It can also be used e.g. against asian flu. The method does not cause undesired side effects. L-Tryptophan can be administered p.o. or i.v. as a soln. or can be incorporated into food or animal feed. AIDS can be prevented where the normal L-tryptophan intake is low and the main food source is maize by continuously fortifying the latter with L-tryptophan. Admin. of indole is in dil. soln. p.o. or by inhalation. Indole derivs., e.g. indomethacin, are administered p.o. or rectally. This is esp. effective against asian flu. Ascorbic acid is administered p.o. and produces hydrogen. It is effective in combination with methanol and hydrogen for the prophylaxis of asian flu when the basic diet is protein-rich and has a high L-tryptophan content. Admin. of methane and hydrogen is as a mixt. with air
