| abstract | The thermal print head (1) has a retaining plate (2), a head substrate (3), a flexible connector (4) and a pressure element (5). The retaining plate is of aluminium and the head substrate plate is of ceramic and carries a series of resistors (6) together with IC driver stage (7). Connections (8) are provided on the surface to an external circuit. The connection plate is of an insulating material, e.g. polyimide film and is reinforced by a support plate (10). The connection plate extends and overlaps (4a) the head substrate. The pressure plate assembly has a screw (12) to apply a clamping force. The support element is of a material with a glass transmission point of not less than 150 degrees Celsius. USE/ADVANTAGE - Prohibits position variation of flexible connection plate. Used for FAX application. |
