abstract Hot melt ink compsn., which is solid at room temp. and liquefies on heating, contains: (a) 10-65 (wt.) % polyamide resin (I) and 5-60% fatty acid amide (II) and/or 5-40% glyceride (III) and opt. max. 5% dyestuff (IV); or (b) 25-65% (I), 5-30% (II) or triglyceride (IIIA), max. 25% wax and 0.5-5% (IV); or (c) 25-65% (I), 5-30% (II) and 0.5-5% (IV) and opt. max 40% fatty acid; or (d) 10-50% (I), 20-60% (II), 10-40% (III) and 0.5-5% (IV). Pref. inks (a) and (b) contain 10-20, esp. 10% (I) and 40-60, pref. 50% (II) and/or 10-40, pref. 10% (III). (a) may also contain (IV) (0.5-5%), which pref. is a magenta, cyan, yellow or black colour. USE/ADVANTAGE - The ink is used in an ink jet printer (claimed). It has better transparency and light transmission than usual and does not require after-treatment, making it esp. useful on OHP films
