Permanent shaping of hair, comprises treating the hair, before and/or after setting, with a compsn. (A) contg. a keratin-reducing agent, then rinsing, fixing with a compsn. (B) contg. an oxidising agent, rinsing, curling and drying. The new features are that (1) (A) contains less than 2.5 wt.% nonionic surfactant (I) and (2) (B) contains 0.01-0.6 wt.% each of cationic surfactant (II) and cationic polymer (III). Also new are 2-components kits contg. (A) and (B). Pref. (A) is allowed to work for 5-30 mins. and (B) for 2-15 min. (I) includes polyethoxylated fatty alcohols or nonylphenols; PEG-15-cocoamine; PEG-30-hydrogenated lanolin, etc. (II) include lauryl-, tetradecyl-, cetyl- or stearyl- trimethylammonium chlorides; lauric acid choline ester chloride, etc. ADVANTAGE - This method provides uniform shaping and imparts conditioning effects, esp. improves feel and combability. Only a small no. of treatment compsns. is needed. |
