titleOfInvention Process for the extraction or maintenance of germ-free media
abstract Germ-free media (e.g. water) are obtd. or maintained using a natural plant antibiotic (I), by a direct or indirect method. In the direct method, the required amt. of (I) is added to the medium as a concentrate. In the indirect method, the medium is treated with vapour from the (I)-contg. concentrate for a suitable time. ADVANTAGE - The medium is not subjected to any special temp. changes during the treatment. The process keeps the medium germ-free for longer periods than all known methods.
