titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of omega-acylaminoalkylthio compounds |
abstract | Prodn. of acylamino-alkylthio cpds. of formula (I) comprises reacting a 2-oxazoline or 5,6-dihydro-4H-1,3-oxazine of formula (II) with an equimolar amt. of a mercapto cpd. of formula XSH (III) at elevated temp.: R is 1-21C alkyl, 2-21C alkenyl or Ph; R1-R4 are H, 1-8C alkyl, 2-21C alkenyl or Ph; Z is a direct bond or CR5R6; R5 and R6 are H, Me or Et; X is (CR7R'7)nCOOR8, C(R9)=NY or a C-bonded heterocyclic gp., opt. fused with other aromatic rings; R7 and R'7 are H or 1-4C alkyl; n is 1-4; R8 is H or 1-22C alkyl; R9 is 1-6C alkyl, Ph or NH2; Y is H, 1-12C alkyl or Ph. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful as antimicrobial agents (claimed), antiparasitic agents and radiodiagnostic agents for kidney imaging. The process gives high yields (mostly above 80%), even when R is higher alkyl. |
