titleOfInvention | Color photographic silver halide material |
abstract | A polymeric oil former (I) is used in colour photographic material, which has Ag halide (AgX) emulsion coat(s) contg. a colour coupler (II), dispersed in (I), and bisphenol monoether or monoester cpd(s). of formula (III). The prepn. of pref. (I) (not claimed) is described in the text (see below). There is no reference to the prepn. of (III). In (III), R = a (substd.) alkyl(sulphonyl), cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl(sulphonyl) or acyl gp.; R1 = a chemical bond or divalent bridging gp.; R2-3 = (substd.) alk(en)yl, alkoxy, cycloalkyl or aryl(oxy) gps.; or 2 R2 and/or R3 gps. = a gp. forming a condensed benzene ring; m and n = 0-3. Pref. (I) is a 1,1'-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-di-substd.-phenyl) mono(alk)acrylate with R = -CO-C(R6)=CH2; R2-3 = (substd.) alkyl or aryl; R6 = H or (substd.) alkyl. USE/ADVANTAGE - These emulsion are used e.g. in colour negative, reversal and positive films, colour reversal paper, materials for the dye diffusion transfer or silver dye bleach process and esp. colour paper with a polyethylene-coated paper base. The use of (II) in conjunction with (I) greatly increases the photostability of yellow azomethine dyestuffs, without impairing the colour purity or causing discolouration of the image whites. |
