A process for waterproofing the face of printer heads, at least around the ink outlets, comprises activating a polymer soln. (I) contg. (a) organic solvent, (b) hydrophobic monomer with hydrophobic gp(s). and polymerisable gp(s). and (c) auxiliary monomer(s) with polymerisable gp(s). by addn. of a hardener (II), an applying the mixt. to the print head face. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process prevents deposits of ink forming on the print head in bubble-jet printers, etc. by coating the face of the head with a waterproof coating. The coating is easily applied and has a high resistance to ink, together with good adhesion and high wear resistance (even after keeping in ink). |
