abstract | Process for quantitative or qualitative determn. of inorganic phosphate in an aq. sample, or for indication of phosphate-releasing reactions, comprises using a signal-amplifying enzyme system suitable as a receptor system for biosensors and test strips. The enzyme system comprises a disaccharide phosphorylase (I), a phosphatase (II) or maltose synthase (III), and a glucose oxidoreductase (IV). (I) is maltose phosphorylase (Ia), trehalose phosphorylase (Ib) or cellobiose phosphorylase (Ic). (II) is alkaline phosphatase (IIa), acid phosphatase (IIb), sugar phosphatase (IIc) or glucose -1-phosphatase (Id). USE/ADVANTAGE - The process may be used for clinical diagnosis or environmental monitoring. The enzyme system has good stability and provides signal amplification by regeneration of free phosphate, giving an at least two-fold increase in sensitivity. |
