titleOfInvention LIQUID DYE / TENSIDE FORMULATIONS
abstract Liquid formulation (I) of a dyestuff (II) which is hardly soluble or insol. in water, contains 0.5-5 pts. liquid surfactant (IIIA) or aq. surfactant concentrate (IIIB) per pt. (II) and other additives if necessary. (IIIA) is a cationic or pref. nonionic, anionic or zwitterionic surfactant and is used in an amt. of 203 pts./pt. (II), opt. as (IIIB) contg. 20-80% surfactant; esp. 3 pts. anionic (III)/pt. (II). In particular, (IIIA) is an anionic carboxylic acid or alkyl sulph(on)ate, nonionic fatty alcohol polyglycol ether, fatty acid ethanol-amide, fatty acid ethanolamine oxide, alkylpolyglucoside or sorbitan ester; a zwitterion alkylaminocarboxylate salt; or a readily biodegradeable surfactant, e.g. the Na salt of N-stearyl-L-glutamine or nonyldiglucoside. (II)( is a water-insol. nonionic unmetallised azo, nitro, methine, acridone, quinophthalone or anthraquinone dyestuff. Pref., (I) is prepd. by mixing 1 pt. (II) with 0.5-5 pts. (III) or its aq. concentrate and opt. other additives. (II) may be in the form of powder, crude (II), wet filter cake, synthesis soln. or suspension of (II) oil. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) is used for dyeing and printing textile material, pref. polyester, cellulose acetate or polyamide textiles. These include polyesters of terephthalic acid with ethylene glycol or dimethylolcyclohexane and copolymers of terephthalic and isophthalic acid with ethylene glycol; polyamide-6, -6,6 and 12. The use of (III) eliminates the need to mill (II) and there are no problems with the dispersion stability. Level dyeing with a high deg. of exhaustion are obtd.
