abstract |
The hybrid vehicle has an IC engine driving at least one axle via a gearbox and differential (16) and an electric motor (24) coupled by a differential to another axle. Between the electric motor and its differential there is an epicyclic gearbox with at least two gear ratios. The sun wheel (54) is mounted on the motor shaft and the planet carrier on the input shaft to the differential. The ring gear can be either braked or coupled to one of the other members. This coupling is performed by a disk clutch tensioned by springs in the engaged state. The clutch and brake are both hydraulically operated. ADVANTAGE - Improved operating regime of electric motor. |
