titleOfInvention SIMPLE DEVICE FOR SAVING BLOOD BY TAKING BLOOD SAMPLES FROM CATHETERS
abstract In cases of patients who require frequency blood tests, the blood is removed from a vein or artery and after the test has been carried out the blood together with the syringe is thrown away. The loss of blood in such cases may be so great that a blood transfusion is necessary. The blood removed from the patient is stored in a vessel made of plastics and is then re-injected into the patient after it has undergone the necessary test. The plastics from which the storage vessel is made is of a type which prevents coagulation of the blood. ADVANTAGE - The loss of blood by the patient is reduced and the need for a subsequent blood transfusion is obviated.
